Be Ready, but are we prepared?

The Government's Be Ready campaign aims to help people prepare for emergencies, from extreme weather to disruption to essential services. But while awareness of the campaign is high, are people taking the steps needed to protect themselves, their households and their communities?

We surveyed 500 nationally representative Britons to understand awareness of Be Ready, attitudes towards emergency preparedness and how these relate to people's expectations of support.

The findings suggest that awareness alone does not necessarily translate into action. They also reveal differences between generations and household types, raising important questions about how resilience messages and support can reach different communities.
